this is pure porn from the late 1800’s and I am obsessed with it and every 3 months you will have to deal with it or we will go our separate ways amicably.

12 Rules for My Unborn Daughter

sundaymorning:

(via aksamala) (via nicolazaro)

by Walker Lamond

1. When on a dinner date, order the steak.

2. Never make fun of your brother in front of other girls.

3. Let him take your coat. That’s the moment he’s been waiting for.

4. Don’t sleep with your bra on. So I’ve been told.

5. Yes, your skirt is too short.

6. Having an accent does not make him more sophisticated.

7. Learn to sew your own clothes. You’ll become a better shopper.

8. If you want to look older, try plastic surgery.

9. Keep a bottle of Champagne in the fridge and ice cream in the freezer.

10. Ride a bicycle.

11. You don’t need to do anything to prove you like him. Ever.

12. Dance with your father. And not just on your wedding day.

Forget about my unborn daughter, these are things I need to remember!

“Stardust” by Willie Nelson from Stardust (1978).

Stardust

(Original song by Louis Armstrong posted May 5, 2009.  Actually, the song is originally by Hoagy Carmichael, but who’s counting?)

To celebrate the one year anniversary of This is My Favorite Song (which is Friday), this week I’ll be posting covers of songs that have previously appeared in these pages and try to recall where I was and what I was doing that day.

May 5, 2009: That was the day I went back.  Back… to the future!  Wait, no, sorry.  That was the 4th.  May 5th was a Tuesday?  That was the day I did some laundry.  Laundry… at my parents’ house!

Stardust

One of my favorite records! I think I play it at least once a month!

My idea of Christmas, whether old-fashioned or modern, is very simple: loving others. Come to think of it, why do we have to wait for Christmas to do that?

CONSUMMATE V'S, I SAID CONSUMMATE!

davereed:

soy:

To begin, draw an S… for snake… or dragon… whatever. Next, we’ll draw a more different S. For the head, put a top mark on a long V. Then you add some legs, draw in a coupla arms, and… whoa. Wait a minute. I think I need to start over. Thing doesn’t look… natural.

Okay, starting again, the same way. S, more different S. Close it up real good at the top for his head, and then, using consummate V’s, give him teeth, spineties, and… angry eyebrows. You can add smoke or fire, or maybe some wings, you know, if he’s a wingaling dragon… let’s put one of those beefy arms back on him for good measure. That looks really good, coming out of the back of his neck there

Now he needs a name. How ‘bout… TROGDOR the BURNINATOR. Oh yeah! Check out all his majesty!

I have employed some chiaroscuro shading.

My favorite Strongbad cartoon

Certainly there’s nothing wrong with a little pizza on our time.

hehehe… Everytime I order pizza, I say this to my roommate, and he still never gets what movie it’s from!

“There’s no birthday party in here for me!”

my friend at work was telling me that she’s slowly been working her way through all of the past Scrubs seasons, knowing that it is one of my favorite shows.  on another day she stopped me and asked me who sang a certain song because I was her “go to guy” for all things music.  she mentioned something about me making a mix for her sometime soon.  so I started thinking about Scrubs, and how so often a new episode would air and I would smile because another of my favorite songs was used in it.  then I thought, “I probably have enough songs in my collection to make an all Scrubs songs mix.”  turns out I have enough for three or four, but I’m going to give her two.  I even put the songs that I had in order of the episodes in which they appeared.  sometimes I’m so awesome even I can’t believe it.

That sounds like an awesome mix!
